Michael Guerin fills in for Tony Veitch this week on the Vent, joined by Prime news presenter Eric Young to talk the big issues from the sporting weekend including the Black Caps loss in Zimbabwe, the Warriors chances without star player Johnson, and the All Blacks' line up for the Rugby World Cup.
Does anyone care about the Black Caps' loss in Zimbabwe?
Guerin: We get beat, world cup runners up, by the second to last team in the world. Does it actually matter, does anybody care?
Young: Well I think some people will care, I'd like to think Mike Hesson cares, I'd like to think that Kane Williamson cares, I'd like to think that the rest of the Black Caps care. It's difficult isn't it though to really care about a series in Zimbabwe when what we're really waiting for is the series against South Africa.
What are the Warriors' chances with Johnson out of the game?
Guerin: The Warriors couldn't buy a line break ... two for the whole game. Clearly if Johnson's there they win against Cronulla?
Young: If Johnson's there they win against Manly, had he not gone off earlier in the game. I don't want to think it's this, but I think they're done for the year.
Who should play in the Rugby World Cup?
Guerin: Of these three players only two can go to the World Cup in my little small mind. Only two of Lima Sopoaga, Colin Slade or Israel Dagg ... who misses out?
Young: Lima Sopoaga
Guerin: Ooh, that's a harsh call.
