The Vent with Tony Veitch Ep10: The 'dumbest referee performance'

In this week's episode of the Vent, Tony is joined by Michael Guerin and Eric Young to discuss the key sporting issues from the weekend including Aaron Cruden's yips, performance of Nigel Owens and the English league flat crashers.

Goal-kicking issues

Michael: After all we've seen this year, it all comes down for this with the All Blacks - we need Dan Carter because our other two first-fives can't be relied on to kick goals.

Tony: If it was Wales this weekend, no disrespect to Scotland, you couldn't start Cruden on the back of his goalkicking.

Eric: Even if he was short of a gallop, they should have started Carter against England...at least the goalkicking would have been right. He's the only guy we can rely on.

Nigel Owens

Tony: Can we get Nigel Owens drug tested? He became a rugby fan not a rugby referee.

Eric: We've seen worse rugby refereeing performances over the years. It was the oddest, dumbest refereeing performance.

Michael: It came across as refereeing for the home team.

Can the Kiwis win the final?

Tony: They have to do it. They have to go back-to-back to show me the Kiwis are back.

Eric: They have to prove that a couple a weeks ago wasn't a fluke. They certainly have the form and the people to prove it.
