The Rock speaks out about rugby being the toughest sport

Wrestling is the sport that has gained him global fame, but Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson says that rugby is the toughest sport he's ever played.

The former top wrestler made the comments on Twitter on Sunday, after being asked by a follower if he had ever considered playing rugby.

He replied saying: "Yup I played rugby as a kid when I lived in New Zealand. Toughest sport I've ever done. #Respect."

Johnson, who is of both Nova Scotian and Samoan decent, briefly lived in the suburb of Grey Lynn in Auckland with his mother's side of the family, attending Richmond Road Primary School before returning back to the U.S with his parents.

He hasn't been back to the country since he lived here but says he is just looking for an excuse to come back.

The Rock wears his All Blacks jersey with pride.

The Rock is still a big All Blacks supporter and made sure he showed his support during the Rugby World Cup.

When Liam Messam posted a gym selfie of himself using The Rock's "favourite machine", the actor responded with "Usos [Samoan for brothers]! Get after it".

The Rock's main focus now is his acting career and he's set to appear on a reboot of the Baywatch series alongside David Hasselhoff, Alexandra Daddario and Zac Efron.
