Czech skier Tereza Nova remains in an induced coma in a German hospital after suffering a heavy fall during a World Cup downhill training at the weekend.
Czech publication iSport reports the Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, said the 26-year-old is stable but is still in a coma four days after the incident.
“Her condition is stabilized. She remains in an induced coma under the supervision of doctors at the hospital in Murnau,” said Jan Fiedler, sports director of the Alpine disciplines section of the ski association.
Nova underwent an operation to reduce swelling on the brain on Sunday local time after a crash in training the previous day.
The Czech ski federation said Nova would “remain in a medically induced coma for as long as the doctors deem it necessary”.
