Christchurchs Z-Energy Wilding Park has been confirmed as the venue for the New Zealand Davis Cup tie against Pakistan 16-18 September for the Asia-Oceania Group 1 second round playoff.
Overnight the International Tennis Federation (ITF) gave the green light for the venue being used for the tie.
Wilding Park recently held Davis Cup ties featuring New Zealand against India and also against Chinese Taipei.
Tennis NZ CEO Steve Johns said the venue suits the team well and should once again be a great opportunity for Kiwis to see New Zealand players in action.
"When we were told that Pakistan was unable to host the tie we immediately checked with Canterbury Tennis to see if the venue was available. It works well for the team who are used to the courts and we know we get great support from the tennis public in the city. Also having a captain such as Alistair Hunt who is so well-known in the sport in Christchurch is a bonus too."
