Kiwi doubles player Michael Venus and Mate Pavic (Croatia) have this morning won through to the semifinals of the ATP Tour's Stockholm Open.
As fourth seeds they defeated a Swedish wildcard team, Isaki Arvidsson and Fred Simonsson 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 in the quarters.
Venus and Pavic now face the Brazilian top seeds and recent US Open winners, Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares for a place in the final.
It is the 11th time this year that Venus has reached the semifinals or better at an ATP event. He is currently ranked 38 in the world, one off his career-best.
At the European Open ATP event in Antwerp, Artem Sitak and American Nicholas Monroe have been beaten 6-0 6-4 by third seeds Olivier Marach and Fabrice Martin in the quarter-finals.
In Las Vegas, Ben McLachlan and Aussie Jarryd Chaplin have been beaten in the quarter-finals of the US$50,000 by the big-serving team of Sam Groth (Australia) and Peter Polansky (Canada) 6-1 6-4 .
