Michael Venus has won the battle of the Kiwis at the ATP tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland.
Seeded No.1 for the tournament Venus and Croatian partner Mate Pavic defeated fellow New Zealander Marcus Daniell and Brazilian Marcelo Demoliner 7-6(3) 7-6(5) in the quarterfinals of the event.
The match took just over an hour and a half to finish and had both sides similar in the stats, but Venus and Pavic winning the vital tiebreak points.
Venus and Daniell will combined together in Rio at the 2016 Olympics in a couple of weeks time.
