KEY POINTS:
New Zealand tennis player Marina Erakovic has made the second round of the Sony Ericsson WTA tournament in Miami after beating Germany's Martina Mueller 6-4 6-7 6-2 this morning.
Currently holding a world ranking of 101, Erakovic, who is a wild card entry in Miami, has picked up 30 ranking points which should secure her a place in the main draw of the French Open. She also picks up US$10,580 ($13,269) in prize money for making the second round.
She will next play 30th seed Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands - her doubles partner when they won the US Open junior doubles title with in 2004.
Should Erakovic beat Krajicek she could face sixth seed Venus Williams in the third round.
