Marcel Vos and Werner Venter have been appointed to enhanced coaching roles with Tennis NZ.
Vos has been appointed tour coach for the senior players. The role will incorporate the Davis and Fed Cup captaincy roles and will see him on the road providing support to the top players for 20-25 weeks per year.
He was appointed Fed Cup captain for this year and the team reached the final of Asia/Oceania Group 1.
Venter has been appointed tour coach for the juniors, with an emphasis on ITF 18s - transition stage players. He will also work predominantly on the road, guiding New Zealand's best emerging young players through the initial stages of their international careers.
Venter has recently coached at the Waikato-Bays Regional Performance Centre.
"With Marcel Vos and Werner Venter on board for these roles we look forward to an enhanced international focus during 2010 and beyond, and even more support for our aspiring professional players," said Tennis NZ chief executive Steve Walker.
"Our focus here will be to provide the best 'on the road' support to our players so as to give them the best chance of international success."
