New Zealand tennis No 2 Michael Venus has won his second doubles title in a row with success at the US$50,000 Binghamton Challenger in New York.
Venus combined with American Bradley Klahn to defeat Australians Adam Feeney and John Patrick Smith 6-3 6-4 in the final. Earlier in the tournament Venus made the second round of singles.
The win, which improves Venus' ATP doubles ranking to a career-high 159, comes after his victory at the US$50,000 Challenger event at Winnetka earlier this month, where he teamed with Yuki Bhambri of India.
This week Venus will again play with Klahn at the Challenger at Lexington, though the Kiwi was unable to make the singles qualifying draw due to his doubles final at Binghamton.
Meanwhile, in Astana, Kazakhstan, Kiwi No 1 Rubin Statham is in the main draw of singles and doubles of the US$125,000 Challenger and will play his first round matches over the next two days.
