Tennis: Sharapova back in top 10

Maria Sharapova has returned to the top 10 in the latest WTA Tennis rankings after reaching the final in Miami at the weekend.

The Russian former world number one has risen four places to number nine with Victoria Azarenka up to a career high six after winning the Miami title.

Caroline Wozniacki remains world number one ahead of Kim Clijsters.

Novak Djokovic';s victory in the Miami Masters has enabled him to gain valuable ground on Rafael Nadal in the men';s rankings.

Unbeaten since the Davis Cup final in December, Djokovic now stands 3,700 points off Nadal, the equivalent of a grand slam and Masters 1000 title.

Former world number one Andy Roddick has slipped to 14th, his worst position since 2002 with Mardy Fish now the highest ranked American at 11th.
