KEY POINTS:
Simon Rea has been recalled to the New Zealand Davis Cup team for the tie against Pacific Oceania next month.
The 24-year-old last played for New Zealand in Pakistan in 2004 and his return had been stalled by injury.
Non-playing captain James Greenhalgh yesterday named Rea alongside Dan King-Turner, Rubin Statham and Adam Thompson for the Asia-Oceania group two tie in Dunedin on February 9-11.
As well, Oliver Statham and Matt Simpson have been named as part of an extended squad to practise against team members.
"It's great to have Simon in the team," Greenhalgh said.
"He's a real good team player. I'm excited to have a squad of six players involved. We don't want to underestimate our opposition even though we are favourites."
New Zealand have never played Pacific Oceania in the Davis Cup.
The Pacific Oceania team consists of Brett Baudinet of the Cook Islands, Juan Langton of Samoa, Michael Leong of the Solomon Islands and West Nott of the Marshall Islands.
