New Zealand Davis Cup player Simon Rea has been defeated in the quarter-finals of the US$10,000 Futures tournament at Kofu in Japan, falling to second seed Takahiro Terachi (Japan) 6-3, 6-2.
By making the quarters, Rea's ATP ranking should improve from 660 to around 630.
This week he plays the US$15,000 Futures at Seogwipo, Korea, alongside other Kiwis Dan King-Turner and Rubin and Oliver Statham.
