New Zealand tennis player Ben McLachlan and his Irish doubles partner, Sam Barry, have been knocked out of the US Open junior boys doubles competition in New York today.
They lost a tight second round match to the Brazilian combination of Karue Sell and Bruno Semenzato in a third set match tiebreaker, 6-7 (5) 6-4 7-10.
McLachlan, 18, now returns to his scholarship at the University of California in Berkley.
