Plans for a radical overhaul of Davis Cup tennis have received the thumbs up from top Kiwi doubles player Michael Venus.
The ITF has announced plans to review the best of five sets format which could see best of three sets played and ties staged over two days instead of three.
It's also proposing the World Group final be staged at a neutral venue.
Venus, who endured a marathon trip to France for this week's ATP tournament in Metz after playing Davis Cup in Christchurch, says the changes would get more players playing for their country.
He says it does take a lot out of you playing the best of five set matches and with all the travel it adds up so it's a good move.
