Top Kiwi doubles player Michael Venus and his South African partner Raven Klaasen have battled through to the quarter finals at the Paris Masters.
The 6th seeds who received a bye into the second round, have edged Croatian Nicola Mektic and American Austin Krajicek 3-6 6-4 10-5 in 1 hour 19.
It was a tight match but one Venus and Klaasen dominated after a sluggish start. They only converted 1 of 5 break point chances but in the end won 66 points to their opponent's 55.
Venus and Klaasen will face the unseeded pair of Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau for a place in the semis after they upset the fourth seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah.
It's the final ATP tournament of the season before the World Tour Finals in London which Venus has qualified for the second straight year.
