Michael Venus and Artem Sitak have both won their first round doubles matches at the French Open in Paris.
Defending champion Venus and his South African partner Raven Klaasen have beaten the French wildcard pair of Corentin Denolly and Alexandre Muller 6-3 6-3 in 1 hr 7, completing the win just before play was suspended around the grounds due to rain.
While Venus's was the first match to be completed on day three, Sitak's was the last as he and his Dutch partner Wesley Koolhof came from a set down to beat the German Croatian pair of Andre Begemann and Antonio Sancic 6-7 (4) 6-2, 6-4 in 2 hours 22.
Sitak and Koolhof were able to convert six of their 12 break point chances in the match while their opponents could only convert three of 13 break point chances.
