Kiwi doubles players Michael Venus and Artem Sitak have suffered first round defeats at the US Open.
Venus and American partner Ryan Harrison were seeded eighth but have lost in straight sets to French pair Jeremy Chardy and Fabrice Martin.
Sitak and Dutch partner Wesley Koolhof also lost in straight sets to the sixth seeds Ivan Dodig and Marcel Granollers.
