The 28 year old plays Dutchwoman Kiki Bertens who is ranked 98 in tomorrow's semi finals, having beaten her 6-1,6-2 in her their only previous meeting two years ago in Florida.
"She likes to dominate and play pretty aggressive and is solid on both sides and it's another match where I have to play my game, being aggressive and push her around the court." Erakovic said.
It's a huge boost for Erakovic who has struggled with injuries and poor form over the past year resulting in her ranking dropping to 186 heading into the tournament.
By reaching the semi finals her ranking will improve to around the 140 mark and if she goes on to win the tournament she will be close to the top 100.
The irony is this is Erakovic's last WTA tournament before next month's French Open where she will have to play qualifying.
Her low ranking means she doesn't get into the big Madrid and Rome tournaments and will instead play a lower tier ITF event in France. However stringing together a run of six matches this week has boosted her confidence.
"I am varying my serve a little bit and playing a lot more kick serves for first serves and the backhand is going well, being able to take a few up the line, which players don't expect from me."
"Definitely winning matches like this helps a lot, obviously it's still early days but it's nice to get a string of matches under my belt." Erakovic said.
Kiwis Marcus Daniell and Artem Sitak are through to the doubles semi finals at the ATP tournament in Istanbul.
They've beaten the Argentine Russian combination of Carlos Berlocq and Teymuraz Gabashvili 6-4, 6-3.
