New Zealand tennis No.1 Marina Erakovic has won her third qualifying match at Wimbledon to gain a place at the main draw of the grass court Grand Slam event in London.
Erakovic seeded 19th in qualifying and ranked 149th beat Russian 11th seed Irina Khromacheva 7-6(5) 6-3 in one hour 35 minutes.
Who she'll play in the main draw has yet to be confirmed, although it should be noted that top seed and defending champion Serena Williams will play a qualifier in the first round.
"I am very happy to get through this week. It was a difficult five days, tough matches, rain delays and dealing with slippery courts made it a big challenge to compete this week," said Erakovic "Today's match in particular required a lot of patience and focus, as it was very windy and we had to wait two days to play. Overall I am happy with how I am playing on the grass and I feel I am improving every day. I look forward to heading over to Wimbledon tomorrow, I really love the place and have so many great memories from the grounds."
Erakovic has played in the Wimbledon main draw on seven occasions previously and reached the third round of singles twice, 2008 and 2013.
