The New Zealand Davis Cup team will remain in Asia Oceania group I next year after today cruising to an unassailable 3-0 win over Chinese-Taipei, who are relegated to group II.
The doubles combination of Marcus Daniell and Artem Sitak easily dispatched Chieh-Fu Wang and Hsien-Yin Peng 6-0 6-4 6-2 to go with victories secured by Rubin Statham and Michael Venus in yesterday's opening singles.
Daniell and Sitak stumbled slightly in the second set, when they trailed 3-0, but quickly regained control of the match.
New Zealand will host China in their next tie in March.
The reverse singles will be played tomorrow.
