The French Open doubles run of Kiwi junior Emily Fanning and her Russian partner Alina Silich has come to an end in the second round.
Fanning and Silich were beaten by Anna Danilina of Kazakhstan and Russian Victoria Kan 6-2, 7-5.
The first set went quickly but Fanning and Silich fought hard in the second, which lasted 43 minutes.
"There wasn't a lot in it and there were a lot of deuce points and with sudden death deuce it can go either way,'' Fanning said. "We had a point to go 5-2 up in the second set so it was a missed opportunity but I'm happy with the way I played.''
However the Kiwi admitted she would probably look to find another doubles partner in time for Junior Wimbledon.
