Heineken Open doubles semi-finalists Michael Venus and Daniel King-Turner continued their good form together, winning their first round doubles match at the US$50,000 Challenger in Hawaii today.
The match was plagued by rain delays but the Kiwis kept their composure to win 6-3 6-2 against Yuki Bhambri (India) and Kamil Capkovic (Slovakia). The now face third seeds Nicolas Monroe and Jack Sock (USA) in the second round.
Venus' singles run was cut short by up-and-coming American Denis Kudla who beat the Kiwi 4-6 3-6 in the second round of the main draw.
