New Zealand will have to travel to Kazakhstan for its Asia/Oceania Group 2 semifinal Davis Cup tie in April.
The 7-9 April tie will be played in the central Asian country, after the Kazak team defeated Kuwait 3-2 in Kuwait in a delayed match due to weather.
Kazakhstan's top player is Alexey Kedriouk who has a current ATP ranking of 390.
New Zealand beat Kazakhstan 4-1 at North Harbour last year.
The tie is likely to be played in either the capital Astana or the former capital city Almaty.
