New Zealand tennis player Sacha Jones has been eliminated in the second round of a US$75,000 ($104,440) WTA tournament in Toyota, Japan. She lost 6-4 5-7 1-6 to Tomoko Yonemura, of Japan, yesterday after beating Taiwan's Yi Chen 6-3 6-1 in the first round. In the doubles, New Zealand's Marina Erakovic and her Thai partner Tamarine Tanasugarn have advanced to the semifinals after beating Japan's Remi Tezuka and Junri Namigata 6-3 6-2. Their semifinals opponents are Japan's Kimi Date-Krumm and Indonesia's Yayuki Basuki, the tournament second seeds.
