The favourite vs the qualifier
Following the conclusion of the first semifinal will be a battle between two of the taller players on tour.
Kevin Anderson, the sole remaining seed, stands at 2.03m. Jiri Vesely, who won through to the main field from qualifying, is five centimetres shorter.
Anderson, the world No 16, won the only previous encounter between the two towers, taking a five-set victory at last year's Australian Open, and the tournament appears the South African's for the taking.
But Vesely has been particularly impressive this week, knocking out second seed Ernests Gulbis, and the Czech will not be taken lightly.
Double troubles
The level of interest in the doubles waned after Kiwi duo Michael Venus and Artem Sitak were last night knocked out, especially considering top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan were bundled out in the first round.
But tomorrow's semifinals should still provide some quality tennis, especially the second semifinal between second seeds Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares and fourth seeds Raven Klaasen and Leander Paes.
The other semifinal features Dominic Inglot and Florin Mergea, who conquered the Kiwis, taking on Marcelo Melo and Max Mirnyi.
Stat of the day
Unless fourth seed Kevin Anderson claims the spoils - a very realistic possibility - tomorrow will provide the winner his first victory on the ATP Tour.
Lucas Pouille has already achieved his best result on the tour, while Adrian Mannarino and Jiri Vesely have only managed to reach semifinals so far in their careers.
