Nick Kyrgios' coach says he wants what's best for the rising tennis star, even if it means a parting of the ways after a career-defining fortnight at Wimbledon.
New Zealander Simon Rea has overseen the 19-year-old's rapid rise from outside the world's top 800 at the start of last year to the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam.
But the partnership's future is unclear, as Kyrgios and his family want him to return to his Canberra home after spending much of the past year with Rea in Melbourne.
Rea was immensely proud after Kyrgios' run was ended by Milos Raonic yesterday, and said discussions about the future would start soon.
"Nothing's been decided in terms of what his programme and coaching structure look like," Rea said.
