Finland's Jarkko Nieminen had an easy win in today's opening singles tennis match at the Heineken Open in Auckland.
The tournament's seventh seed beat Marcos Baghdatis from Cyprus 6-2 6-2 without dropping a serve.
Baghdatis -- a former world junior champion -- was unable to combat a clinical display of tennis from Nieminen and exited in the first round.
