Marina Erakovic is out of the Wimbledon singles tournament after being beaten 6-4 6-3 by Italian Roberta Vinci in her second-round match this morning (NZT).
The world's 49th-ranked player had her chances, breaking Vinci twice, but was broken five times by the tournament's 21st seed in a match lasting 76 minutes.
Erakovic is through to the second round of the doubles after she and Thai partner Tamarine Tanasugarn beat the Chinese pairing of Shuai Peng and Jie Zheng 6-2 6-2.
The Kiwi No 1 and Tanasugarn, who progressed to the semifinals at Wimbledon last year, will face the Polish duo of Klaudia Jans-Ignacik and Alicja Rosolska in the second round.
