New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic has scored one of her best career wins at the WTA tournament in Tokyo.
Erakovic took out fifth seeded Italian Sara Errani in straight sets, winning 6-4, 6-1.
Errani was ranked 12th in the world, but had few answers to Erakovic's remarkable comeback in the feature match on centre court late last night.
Erakovic is in desperate need of some strong results in her final three tournaments of the season, having dropped more than 20 places to 103 in the latest WTA rankings.
If her ranking doesn't improve significantly the Aucklander will need a wildcard into Auckland's ASB Classic in January.
