Marina Erakovic has claimed herself another scalp at the Edgbaston Classic women's tennis tournament at Birmingham, England.
The New Zealander today eliminated Russian 11th seed Yaroslava Shvedova in the second round of the $US220,000 grass court event after two tight sets.
Erakovic, ranked 167th in the world, toppled the world No 115 7-6 7-5 to advance deeper into a grass court tournament used by players as preparation for the Wimbledon grand slam championship starting in London on June 20.
She is due to meet either American Christina McHale or Italian seventh seed Sara Errani in the third round.
