New Zealand No 1 Marina Erakovic combined with Thai partner Tamarine Tanasugarn to win their second round doubles match at Wimbledon overnight (NZT).
The pair beat Polish combination Klaudia Jans-Ignacik and Alicia Rosolska 7-6(4) 6-3 in 1 hour 43 minutes to progress to the third round where they will take on the Russian fifth seeds Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina.
The win over the Poles was deja vu for the Erakovic as she and Tanasugarn defeated the same pair in the second round at Wimbledon last year.
This victory was achieved through consistency, with the pair making just three unforced errors and serving above 80 per cent on their first serve.
Along with the accurate serving which saw no double faults from the pair, Erakovic and Tanasugarn were able to return well and converted four of 12 break point opportunities.
