New Zealand tennis No 1 Marina Erakovic crashed out of the US Open in New York today.
She recorded her fifth successive first-round exit when losing 3-6 6-7 to Frenchwoman Pauline Parmentier in the last Grand Slam tournament of the year.
Erakovic, ranked No 52 in the world compared to Parmentier's No 49, was eliminated in the opening round of her previous four tournaments, including the Olympic Games in beijing.
