KEY POINTS:
New Zealand tennis player Marina Erakovic's run in the women's singles of the French Open came to an end in the second round when she lost 2-6, 6-7 to third seed Jelena Jankovic in Paris late last night.
Erakovic had a nervous start, going down in just 37 minutes to Jankovic with a stilted display.
The 20-year-old New Zealander showed an ability to vary her game and mix her play up but although she made 12 winning plays to Jankovic's four, the difference came in her 31 unforced errors to Jankovic's 19.
The 60 ranking points Erakovic earns for making it through to the second round will see her close in on the world's top 70 at the end of Roland Garros. She's also guaranteed to take home ¬23,760 ($47,000).
