Marina Erakovic exited the US$235,000 Pattaya tournament in Thailand overnight after going down 5-7 6-3 6-2 to German Sabine Lisicki in her quarter-final.
The New Zealand No 1 had her chances against the former world No 12 in a match that lasted two hours and 18 minutes.
Erakovic, currently ranked 75, will travel to Kazakhstan for New Zealand's Fed Cup tie next week at the conclusion of her involvement in the doubles where she is playing with Great Britain's Heather Watson.
