After easily winning her way through qualifying at the US$250,000 Hong Kong WTA tournament New Zealand tennis No.1 Marina Erakovic is set to face British player Heather Watson this evening in the main draw.
The match is scheduled for 8pm (NZ time) with Erakovic winning their only previous encounter three years ago in three sets. Erakovic entered the tournament with a ranking of 119 while Watson is 75.
Erakovic is into the quarter-finals of the doubles after teaming with China's Ling Zhang to defeat Saisai Zheng and Kwan Yau Ng 7-5, 7-5 in the first round.
German world No.1 Angelique Kerber is the top seed ahead of Venus Williams (United States) and Johanna Konta (Britain).
