Marina Erakovic has been unable to repeat her head-turning feats as she exited the WTA Stanford Classic tennis tournament in the United States today.
A day after eliminating world No 4, defending champion and tournament top seed Victoria Azarenka, the 23-year-old New Zealander was herself unceremoniously tipped out of the event in straight sets.
She was outclassed by Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova in their third round encounter, losing 1-6 1-6 in just 67 minutes.
Erakovic's progress was spiked by the world No 19, who totally dominated a rival ranked 102 places below her.
Yesterday's win over Azarenka marked the first time Erakovic has beaten a top-20 player.
