New Zealand number one Marina Erakovic and Germany's Julia Goerges lost a close women's doubles match overnight against second seeds and 2011 Australian Open Winners Flavia Pennetta of Italy and Gisela Dulko of Argentina at the Rogers Cup tennis championships in Toronto.
Erakovic and Goerges won the first set 6-4 before going down 6-2 in the second.
Pennetta and Dulko, who are ranked world number three and four in doubles respectively continued their momentum to take the third set super tiebreak 10-6 to seal the match.
Meanwhile, Sacha Jones lost in the first round to Czech Republic's Kristyna Pliskova 7-6 2-6 1-6 at a women's ITF tournament in Bronx, New York City.
