Tennis: Erakovic advances to Challenger quarterfinals

New Zealand women's tennis No 2 Marina Erakovic has forced her way into the quarterfinals at a US$25,000 Challenger tournament in the United States.

Erakovic beat Austrian Melanie Klaffner 6-3 6-1 in the second round at Hammond, Louisiana, today to book a meeting against Romanian Elena Bogdan in the last eight.

Erakovic and her American partner Alexa Glatch have withdrawn from the doubles after Glatch sustained an injury.
