New Zealand's Artem Sitak and his American doubles partner, Nick Monroe, have been beaten in the semifinals of Aptos Challenger tennis tournament in California today.
Sitak and Monroe were beaten by the top seeded Australian pair of Carsten Ball and Chris Guccione in 6-2 6-7 (3) 10-5 at the Seascape Sports Club.
Sitak and his Davis Cup teammate Michael Venus, who made the quarterfinals of the singles competition, will play in the US$50,000 ($59,884) Challenger in Lexington, Kentucky this week.
Venus is set to play American wildcard Jack Sock in the first round while Sitak faces Frenchman Clement Reix.
