KEY POINTS:
New Zealand number one Dan King-Turner scored one of the best wins of his professional career last night.
King-Turner and his American partner James Martin scored an emphatic 6-1, 6-2 win over the highly-ranked and experienced Czech pair Leos Friedl and David Skoch in the first round.
King-Turner won through to the second round last year with partner Jarkko Nieminen after beating fellow New Zealanders Rubin and Oliver Statham.
But last night's victory was a much greater scalp as Friedl has won 15 ATP doubles titles and Skoch has won five.
King-Turner, who has a doubles ranking of 214, and Martin, who has a doubles ranking of 70, will play Nicolas Almagro of Spain and Sergio Roitman of Argentina in the second round.
Kiwi interest in the tournament also continues in today's doubles when GD Jones and Rubin Statham play Luis Horna and Juan Monaco.
