Two-time former champion Eleni Daniilidou has been handed the final wildcard for the upcoming ASB Classic tennis tournament.
The world No 100 has been a regular in Auckland throughout her career, winning the title in 2003 and 2004, and joins former world No 2 Vera Zvonareva in being handed a wildcard.
Tournament director Karl Budge had also been in talks with 2011 champion Greta Arn but felt handing one to the Greek player was an obvious choice for her loyalty to the ASB Classic, her popularity with fans and the fact she is a former champion.
World No 4 Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland headlines the field that contains six top-30 players and two former world No 2s. Marina Erakovic (67) will be the sole Kiwi presence, although Budge is expected to heed calls for 15-year-old Paige Hourigan to receive a wildcard into qualifying which gets under way next weekend.
