Former Heineken Open doubles champion Marcus Daniell is through to the final of both the singles and doubles at the British Futures tournament at Ilkley, England.
Daniell beat second seeded Frenchman Antoine Benneteau 7-5 4-6 6-4 in the singles semifinals and will now play Brit Tom Farquharson. It is Daniell's second Futures singles final.
The Kiwi is aiming to win his 14th doubles title (one ATP title at the 2010 Heineken Open and 12 Futures titles) and, together with regular partner Richard Grabb (UK), will play locals George Coupland and Joe Salisbury in the final.
Meanwhile, Abigail Guthrie is through to her first doubles final at ITF level after progressing to the final stage at the women's Futures tournament at Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.
Originally from Auckland, Guthrie has been playing and training in the United States and has combined with American Kristi Boxx to win their way into the final. They beat Eleni Kordolaimi (Greece) and Pauline Payet (France) 5-7 7-6(5) 10-3 in their semifinal and will face Anna Morgina (Russia) and Naomi Totka (Hungary) in the final.
