Wozniacki was surprised to learn that she had brought up her eighth 'century' — "that's crazy I didn't even know that...."— but also had no problems recalling her first WTA outing, even though it was almost two decades ago.
"I remember everything about my first match," Wozniacki told the New Zealand Herald. "I played in Cincinnati. It was 2005, I played Patty Schnyder, who was top 10 in the world and seeded No.1 at the tournament."
Wozniacki was 15 years old when she stepped out on court, given a wildcard into the Cincinnati Masters. It didn't go well.
"I lost 6-3, 6-0 and I did not feel good after the match and I went back to practice," said Wozniacki.
"[But] I learned a lot from that match and it just gave me more will to go out there and practice even harder."
The rest is history, as Wozniacki banked her first WTA title in 2008, reached a grand slam final in 2009 and had attained the No.1 ranking a year later.
After all this time, the Dane admits she still surprises herself with some of the shots that she produces.
"Sometimes I'm like, Oh wow, that was good," laughed Wozniacki. "I didn't expect it to be that good. But I guess in practice you keep working on these shots and it's nice when it actually works out."
Wozniacki is also a long time Liverpool fan and proved it once again by answering a couple of Reds related questions.
She correctly listed three Scandinavian players who have appeared for the Anfield club, and came close to identifying a jersey from the previous decade.
