Two is better than one for the organisers of the Heineken Open who have confirmed that legendary doubles pairing, Mike and Bob Bryan, will line up in next month's event in Auckland.

Their list of achievements is staggering with more than 100 career titles, 16 grand slam doubles titles, seven grand slam mixed doubles titles and four season-ending championship titles between them.

The Americans have been the season-ending No 1 team in the world 10 times since 2003, including the past five years on the bounce.

The identical twins have won more games, more matches, more tournaments and held the No 1 ranking for more weeks (397) than any other player.

The duo continued their dominance on tour in 2014, winning ten titles, including six at the masters level, while they reached the final on a further three occasions. Their win at the US Open in September meant the twins have won at least one grand slam every year for the past ten years.

Their impending arrival means Auckland will host both the No 1-ranked men's and women's pairs (Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci will play the ASB Classic from January 5-10) in 2015.

"This really is the icing on the cake for us," said Heineken Open tournament director Karl Budge. "I am not sure we will see this quality of field again in New Zealand for some time. To have seven top-twenty players and by far the best doubles team of all time in the one year really is amazing.

"We will certainly be the envy of many larger tournaments around the world given the strength of our fields this year."

The 2015 Heineken Open, which gets underway on January 12, will offer an international line-up. American John Isner is the defending champion in the singles draw, while Austrian Julian Knowle and Brazil's Marcelo Melo won last year's doubles tournament.
