KEY POINTS:
New Zealander Leanne Baker battled pain to win the US$10,000 ($12,845) ITF tennis tournament in Mazatlan, Mexico.
The left-hander from Te Awamutu, seeded fourth, won a gruelling final 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 over Anna Lubinsky of the United States.
The three-hour match would have been especially tough on Baker, who is nursing a toe broken at another tournament in Mexico last week.
Baker's WTA ranking is 493, making her New Zealand's fourth-highest ranked player, after Marina Erakovic (84), Ellen Barry (305) and Sacha Jones (349).
