Table tennis: NZ to host world junior champs

Auckland's North Shore will host the 2008 world junior table tennis championships, chief executive John Brockies said today.

Brockies was speaking from Shanghai, where he and Mayor George Wood presented the city's bid.

The championships will held at the North Shore Events Centre and the North Harbour Table Tennis Stadium in December, 2008.

The event is expected to attract at least 400 competitors from up to 24 countries.
