Number one Dan King-Turner dismissed Kuwaiti number two Ahmad Rabeea Muhammad 6-4, 6-2, 6-2, before Statham crushed the highly-fancied Mohammad Ghareeb 6-3, 6-2, 6-3.
King-Turner will partner GD Jones in tonight's doubles.
