A boost for New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic.
The 29 year old Aucklander has won her first round qualifying match at the prestigious Miami Open in Florida.
Erakovic, who has struggled so far in 2017, has beaten Britain's Naomi Broady 7-5, 6-4 in one hour 46 minutes
Erakovic will next face either Canada's Francoise Abanda and needs to win two more matches to make the main draw.
The Kiwi hasn't progressed beyond the first round at a tour level tournament this year, and is looking to boost her current ranking of 107 to earn direct entry to the main draw at the French Open in May.
