New Zealand tennis players Marina Erakovic and Rubin Statham have been confirmed in the 2016 US Open singles qualifying draws.
Erakovic ranked 113 and seeded eighth in qualifying faces the relatively inexperienced Yafan Wang from China who is ranked 163rd in the world in the womens singles qualifying.
They have never played each other on the WTA tour.
However Statham has a slightly tougher task as he has been draw to play Koreas Duckhee Lee who is currently 191st, while the Kiwi Davis Cup player is ranked 431st in the world.
The only time they have played in an ATP event was in the qualifying of the ATP Challenger in Launceston in Tasmania earlier this year where Lee was the winner 6-2 7-6(3).
Stathams best result of 2016 was defeating top 200 ranked Guilherme Clezar (Brazil) to reach the second round of the Lexington Challenger. He also won the Pittsburgh Futures tournament and made the US Open after winning a wildcard qualifying tournament.
Neither Erakovic or Statham are scheduled for the first day of play which is Tuesday (US time, Wednesday New Zealand time).
Michael Venus, Marcus Daniell and Artem Sitak will all play in the doubles main draw in New York.
The main draw tournament is August 29 - September 11 at Flushing Meadows.
